The airport stands alongside the major Western Expressway, which runs in a north to south direction and provides access to the city centre.

Close to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport you will find Trombay to the south-east, Saki Naka to the north-east and Vile Parie to the west. Roads nearby include the Feel Road, Tunga Road, Marol Maroshi Road and the Swami Vivekananda Road.


Directions to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) from the north of Mumbai:

  • Head south along the Western Expressway
  • Take the Airport Exit (west) onto the airport road for the terminal buildings

Directions to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) from the south of Mumbai:

  • Take the Western Expressway north from Mumbai and the south
  • Take the Airport Exit (left) onto the airport road for the terminals. This route is well signposted

Directions to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) from the east of Mumbai:

  • Take the Lalbahadur Expressway south-west and west from eastern Mumbai
  • Exit north onto the Western Expressway
  • Continue north for a few miles and then exit west at the Airport Exit

Directions to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) from the west of Mumbai:

  • The Lalbahadur Expressway also comes in from the west of Mumbai
  • Take the Western Expressway north for a few miles
  • Exit west at the Airport Exit

The Domestic Terminal is located about 2.5 miles / 4 km from the International Terminal and is well signposted. All roads in and out of Mumbai are notoriously busy, although the Western Expressway alleviates much of the traffic travelling north and south.
